Route Map & Distances
There are two main routes to reach Jibhi. The first route is via the Manali highway - when you reach Aut tunnel, instead of entering it, take the straight road towards Banjar which leads to Jibhi, Shoja and Jalori Pass. This is an uphill drive on narrow mountain roads. Alternatively, you can come via Shimla, driving through a mix of uphill and downhill narrow roads towards Jalori Pass, then descending to Shoja and finally reaching Jibhi.
The speed limit generally does not exceed 40 kmph, and reduces to 20 kmph or even 10 kmph at steep stretches near Shoja and Jalori Pass. Important safety tips for mountain driving:
- • Never coast downhill in neutral
- • Use engine braking with appropriate gears
- • Be respectful of other drivers
- • Plan your passing spots in advance
- • When you see an oncoming vehicle, look ahead for wider sections where both vehicles can safely pass
- • For night driving, use low beam headlights and proceed with extra caution
- • While road conditions may vary, regular maintenance work ensures safe passage for travelers
